Puffy in the Kruger

Puffy in the Kruger

Postby BB Gabonica » Wed Aug 12, 2009 2:27 pm

Was in the Kruger Park this past Saturday.
At about 2:30 in the afternoon, about 2km from Pretoriuskop, we came across this nice male puffy on the road.
The people we were with were quite a bit ahead of us when we noticed something lying in the middle of the road. By the time we realised it was a snake it was too late to stop. Luckily he kept still and went straight under the middle of the car between the tyres. The people ahead of us had also realised it was a snake and swerved to avoid him. We reversed to take a look at him, and having made sure there were no other people (or animals) around, I hopped out to see if he was ok and snapped some shots of him.
Very calm. No hissing what-so-ever.

I have seen a puff adder bask on the road near Pretoriuskop aswell and there were 1 or 2 cars parked around it too. They were rather excited.

Nice one.
