The Rhinkals would no doubt make a meal out of your brown house snake.

Uhm one big NO NO is rinkhals is not semi venomous they are life threatening. And also I would say give each his own enclosure.

It is never a good idea to keep 2 snakes together in the same cages, so 2 different species would not be a good idea.
Rinkhals is not semi venomous, they are highly venomous.
You would need a permit for any indigenous snake unless you live in KZN. There are some indigenous snakes bred all the time (that will be on permit) so it would be much better to rather get captive bred animals and not go for wild caught.

I have 2 neonatals born this season, they are 245mm long. As a rule I do not free handle any venomous snake. I was handling one with tweezers this weekend and she left a nice clear drop of venom on the tweezers. It was definately not poop so beware.
