Preparing for my 1st GTP

Preparing for my 1st GTP

Postby Zane02 » Fri Jun 21, 2013 3:05 pm

I am in the process of acquiring my 1st Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis) and as with all my pets I do extensive research before receiving them. I have read quite a bit on the net, but from experience with tarantulas, I do not trust Google and all who adds their "vast knowledge" to the internet. I have read about a book-More Complete Chondro- and would like to know where I can order one? I live in Bloem so no store here will stock them..My best guess is ordering through Exclusive Books?

Any tips and help will be welcome! I am hugely excited about this!!!

Check out ultimate exotics website, I am sure I have seen it there before and their service is great

I wish I was in your position. Good luck mister
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

Congrats Zane and I can assure you that once you acquire your new GTP you will be consumed. I hope to collect many more myself. Before getting my GTP's I battled to find the book as well and in my opinion the more complete chondro is the bible for GTP keepers. I managed to find a copy at a store in edenvale called repzotix. They had 4 copies when I got mine so the should still have. All the best.

Yep welcome to the family, Gtp keeping die definitely a treat, but only if you do your homework, which it seem you are doing :D . I got my copy of "The Bible" from airport pets, they have branches in Kempton Park and on Zambezi Drive in Pretoria, be warned though that the book is out of print as far as i can remember so getting a copy may be an exhaustive task, but well worth the effort!

Thanks a lot for the welcomes and well-wishes...Good to know I have a couple of guys to ask for assistance if the need arises! I found The More Complete Chondro on kalahari.com so I'm going to order it soon. Quite expensive, but I'm seeing it as an investment.

Will keep you updated...

Its expensive but far cheaper than losing your Chondro. Well worth getting.
