Rian, great news on all sides for you, and for me. I am glad the eggs are hatching. I am also glad that Popeye is fine.
I will make a plan to get up to you, hopefully before the end of February.
Keep up the good work my friend.

Heidi, thanks for the kind words. I wasn't expecting anything to actually come of this pairing, as the adults were never brumated. So this was a nice surprise, and fits my rack perfectly (rack is now at 100% capacity). This season proved my point, albeit unintended, on lack of brumation with the last clutch, so a theory has turned fact, and now I'm prepared for the next season.

Roland, it is a bumper season for me. Unexpectedness all over. Now I just need some surprise clutches from some of these other charges of mine, and 2014 is set to go.

If this first one is anything to go by, then I hope the other two are just as neat. Nice dark black saddles, clean lines so far, so I'm smiling. They may be mutts, but they sure are nice to me.

Thanks for the compliments all, will update as I can. Next one should pop it's head out soon.

Well, on a low note, I ended up doing an "egg-topsy" on the remaining eggs, as none of the others had come out, or seemed to be moving...

This is what I pulled from the last two good eggs. Not a happy sight, as they were pretty much ready to pop, and the larger one's egg had a large slit in it that was not made by me.

Sadly, only the first one out has made it, out of 11 eggs. It's better than nothing, and the little one is definitely going to be staying with me for future plans.

Thanks for looking.

That is a bummer. I had something similar happen to me last year. Out of 20 Bredli Python eggs only 1 egg survived, and the baby didn't have an egg tooth, so drowned in the egg (we obviously cut it out of the egg).

In 2012 I also had 3 baby Irian Jaya Carpets that survived out of 13 eggs, last year I had 7 survive out of 12 eggs. Once the first baby cut, I cut all the eggs.

Moral of the story is, don't get too despondent, just keep on trying. It's a learning curve.

Good luck with the 1 remaining baby. Hope he makes it all worth while.

So, Heidi, basically you didn't have a single neo from that clutch?! That really sucks! I would go ballistic. Thanks, won't dare give up! I enjoy the thrill too much. Even if it's just for one baby.

The little one is still alive and kicking, and should hopefully shed any day now. Been in the bad world for just under two weeks now, and only had one fleeting glance after sexing and housing. Hopefully, after his first shed, he'll surprise me somehow. I am pleased that he is more "barred" compared to the last ones.

Yup, it sucks, but yes, 1 is better than none, and there's always room for improvement.

Well, was changing water last night, and couldn't help myself. He's 16 days old now, and hasn't shed as of yet, but I'm hoping he will soon. Just managed to snap this one shot, as I didn't want to disturb him any more than I have.

Little chap decided to shed sometime Sunday/Monday, and quickly snapped two shots, while cleaning the tub, and changing the water again.

Loving his colors! So much lighter, and so different to his siblings from 2012...

Thanks for looking! Enjoy!

Thanks Bushbaby.

Yep, he has some serious attitude to him, and I already have his future partner ready and waiting for him. Now, to just grow him up, so he can start producing lovely little bitey beasties.
