Hi guys . Got this gorgeous male jaguar carpet a short while ago and was waiting for him to shed before i shared it with you guys. This species has been on my wishlist for quite some time and i must say im blown away by the beauty of this animal. The pictures really dont do justice. I will be pairing him eventually with a stunning female jungle im getting from Eugene's(mitton) 2012 season that was originally a hold back but has now decided to sell her :) Cannot wait!!!. enjoy :)

Now that is a decent looking specimen.

Yup, that's a world-class Jag. Very pretty.

Almost looks like a Caramel Jag!

I heard a rumour that some Caramel Jags were imported as normal jags as sold as such too. Only after selling quite a few the importer realized that they were in fact Caramel Jags. Does anyone know whether there's a bit of truth in this story or just a myth?

It does look like the Caramels that are around in SA.

The guy who imported the Caramels brought them in as normal Jags but then saw they were different before selling them. He kept the best ones back and sold some but as Caramels, not just as normal Jags.
One of the few he kept back is great looking, the best Jag I have seen in SA.

Thanks a lot for the comments guys :) . And wow that is quite interesting to know! got me rather excited here haha.. Eugene I know this might be a stupid question but is there anyway of proving he might actually be a caramel?.. He's a 2012, I know he was bought at the expo last year and that he came from capetown, but that's all the info I know. When I saw him for the 1st time I was quite taken aback as I never seen a jag so clean and bright . Extremely happy.. Now just to get that female jungle eugene ;)

Only way to prove him out is by breeding trails.

The short and sweet way=t is to try and find a 100% Caramel, which will probaly not be easy in SA.

Other way is to breed him to a normal (Jungle would look nice combined with this colour, or IJ) and then breed him back to one of his daughters.

I got confirmation this weekend that this will not be a Caramel Jag, just a normal good looking Jungle Jag.

Normally that black on a Caramel Jag is broken up or gone completely.
