I was browsing the net and found something I thought I'd share. The picture is copyrighted and the owner's name displayed.



This is a pied/paradox leucistic Morelia spilota ssp.A few have been produced overseas by breeding a jaguar to jaguar.

Most of these hatchilings are still born, although fully developed. I believe the longest such an animal has survived is 3 weeks, but a few hours is typical of a live hatchling.

Amazing, but I prefer locality specimen. Imagine what price the first hets are going to go for!

How's you Carpets doing Westley? Is your female gravid?

Hi Mittone.

I actually checked on her this morning and I'm 90% sure she is gravid.

She is basking on her heat spot literally on her side so that all her ventral scales are showing. I also see faint lumps down her body so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm getting my incubator up and running this week just for in case.

How are things on your side?

Yeah, also gravid, she is nice and fat and the scales are stretched.
I set my incubator up last week just to be sure.
When did yours have her pre-lay shed?

She shed on Friday last week.

I'm not sure how long after the pre-lay shed to expect the eggs so I'll just keep checking up every day.

I'm going for 30.5 to 31 degrees. What temps are you going to be incubating at?

They lay about 20 to 30 days after the pre-lay shed, so you still got some time. Mine shed on 23 September.
I've got my incubator set at 30.5.

Just a quick update.
Last Wednesday when I got home I found this one single yellow and hard egg in the cage. It was 20 days after her pre-lay shed but it did get me stressing a bit and I wondered if any of the other eggs will be good.


On Friday morning when I got up she was busy dropping her eggs and had 3 healthy looking eggs out. When I got home from work I found this.


She had laid 20 eggs but 4 of them don’t look very good.




At least it is looking a bit more positive, I’ll just have to wait and see.

Great news mate.

Just goes to show we must never give up hope. The 16 good ones look healthy. After a week or so they should look nice and "full".

Is that her first clutch? Sixteen eggs are a decent amount for a smaller girl. Those 4 eggs should start going mouldy soon. Glad to see you pulled the eggs apart. Don't stress if the other eggs start to dimple. They still hatch, I found some of my clutches do it when they are clumped. Good luck. I told you it was easy.

Yup, that's her first clutch. Was 21 eggs in total, which I reckon is not too shabby for the first time. lol

I also thought 16 good eggs are not bad at all, especially after the 1st dud. I put the 4 dodgy eggs in their own container just in case, so many people say not to chuck eggs that don't look good, so I'll just wait till they go off by themselves.

Very nice! Don't eat those yellow eggs, they taste terrible.
