basilisk babies

basilisk babies

Postby Iggy » Fri Nov 24, 2006 9:08 am

our 2nd clutch of basilisks has just hatched out....of her first clutch of 8 eggs, only 1 was a good egg and hatched, the others withered quickly. This time all 7 eggs have hatched, but 2 seem to have a curvature of the spine, otherwise healthy. Is this indicative of a shortage of calcium to the mother, or any other deficiency? They seem active now, but what are their chances of survival long term?

Could be calcium, bt some people say like a drop in temp could also cause that ;)

Ill say a drop in temps.

Cos we had a captive bred one, that was perfectly healthy but it had a zig zag tail. It was born like that.
