Frilled lizzards in CPT

I just heard that there are talks about banning these guys, Frilled lizzards, from the Cape. Is this true? I,ve been saving up for one, but now I don't know anymore. what will happen if I buy one today and they pass that law, will I have to give it up?
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you all so much.
