Hi,

Thanks, Yes it is safe that I am wearing the gloves. I catched it without gloves but my hand got so tired so I put on gloves in case the lizard would get loose and bite me...

Sorry I dont know anything about any monitorlizards...

The gloves do not help much if a large varanid gets hold of you. It stops (or reduces) the cuts the teeth make but the pressure is guaranteed to make you wet yourself.

Gloves are great to stop the claws getting into your arm and ripping that open.

I used to have a Varanus gouldi many years ago and it was the nicest varanus I have ever worked with. They become tame and are really intelligent.

Hi...

I know why he´s wearing gloves - look at their colours - blue and yellow. That´s the colors of the Swedish flag - he is homesick ! He miss me !

Swedish gloves to catch lizards. That must be new!

I was not saying the gloves are a bad idea, just that they are not total protection so still be careful.
