Chuckwallas.... a post all for themselves

These are my pride and joy, as all my reps are, but I have a real soft spot for these guys.
I keep 1.2, Harry, Chucky and Amber.

A joint breeding programme was put in place with my female Chucky and a male from Bristol Zoo.
Last years breeding failed, but this year 8 eggs were laid.
7 hatched including conjoined twins
The twins were so conjoined that they were put to sleep at the vets.
All I have is a standard photograph, but once I can scan the picture I will put it up.
I now have Chucky back along with three of the babies.
Here they are... :)

Won't bore you all any more for the moment, but wanted to share some of my family

Wow!! They are cute!! Never seen them before.

They are not common in the UK either.
Both the Girls are UK CB, the male came in from the USA last year.
After a period of quarantine I introduced him to Amber, and now Chucky.
They are going to be moved shortly into a larger vivarium and ready for our winter.
Chucky is likely to produce a clutch next year from the Bristol Zoo male, who mated shortly before her return to me

Chuckwallas are found in the USA...
Southern Nevada to Guayman, Mexico, southern California to central Arizona, southern Utah.
My male is a US Import and my girls are UK CB.

i posted on kingsnake how i caught three cucks under one piece of tin in Glamis. I have seen this one chuck there under the same piece of times three times in one year. But now he has two chicks to keep him warm on those cold desert nights. i cant add pics to this post for some reason, so i will just added a link. BTW, every chuck i have every caught has been promptly pickled for science.

Just kidding, i leave them exactly where i find them, just to find them again. Very rewarding.

Nice pics, cheers, donald

You pickle the Chucks and we will arrange that a shipment of CITES1 tortoises and kiddie porn gets delivered to your door a few seconds before the feds bust you!!

You have been warned!!

Lovely pic by the way. I wonder where they would lay the eggs, also under the tin?
