Wow they are gorgeous, hope you are lucky and able to breed them.

Is the terrarium the same as that for a Bearded Dragon with lights and temps etc..

These lizards are possibly the easiest lizards I have ever had to care for. They are omnivorous and eat a wide variety of leaves, veggies, fruit and then canned food too.

If the cage is similar to what you would have for Beadies then it would work for them. Unlike the blue tonged skinks these are not in the slightest bit aggressive towards each other.

If (or should that be when) I breed them I will seriously look at the export market for them. I have seen them command prices as high as US$6500-00 each which is a nice amount for a lizard that is so easy to keep.

Here they are not that expensive but are almost never offered. I know a whole batch were shipped to Europe where they went for (I think) 1800 British pounds each. Those are the joys of having legal specimens that have a paper trail. That way they can be re-exported without a problem even if they are on CITES.

Is the lack in the market due to the fact that they are monogamist or is it that there is just no demand for them?

To get them out of Oz is impossible so the ones that are around are paired up and kept like that. They do live for a long time and if after 10 or 20 years you have not produced anything then they come onto the market. They can be convinced to take new mates although it is not easy. Sexing them is another problem and I am just hoping there is a pair somewhere in these 3. I know of someone else who said his were mating recently but I have not heard what happened with them. This same pair he has were assumed to be two males for many years due to a lack of interest in each other, and then after a change in conditions they suddenly started mating.

Nope still not. They seemed interested and then just lost interest. Lets see what happens this year after the winter period.
