DOR Ellisras [boomslang]

Postby Sico » Fri Feb 12, 2010 8:29 am

I found this on the road in Lephalale (Ellisras) yesterday afternoon. It was freshly killed, and about 1.3-1.4m in length. It's colour was a slightly pale green.
Any guesses on the ID?

It is an ex-Boomslang.
Shame it was a nice size.

I would also say Boomslang.

Thanks guys, my first thought was a boomslang as well based on head shape and colour and eyes. I looked in the mouth to see if I could find some fangs but it was a bit too mooshed. Like i said it was really freash, blood was still running out of it, which is a real pity.

Shame, would have been a nice specimen to find.

On which road was this found and how far from town? Marken Road?

Ahh...I have no idea why, but I never have too much hope for that road.
Was it between Onverwacht and Medupi or past Medupi?
