What is more amazing is that this snake does not have dedicated heat in his cage and by last night he had digested the pig and was begging again. If he sees me in the room at night and smells rats then he is up against the glass. It is not as if he is under fed or anything. The room is warm but not his cage as such.

Well my theory goes on the basis of: South African Snake used to South African weather...and snakes don't brumate the WHOLE winter and do eat when the oppurtunity arises. Rain or shine, cold or hot - a snake will survive and survival is eating, mating(etc) and staying safe.

Very impressive Tony
Never saw a mamba eating a prey as large as that.
