Rinkhals Venom and dogs

Postby Golden@12 » Fri Mar 25, 2011 9:11 am

We live on a small holding on the westrand of jhb.
We breed with golden retriever dogs, and we know there is rinkhalses around.
What would be the way to act if one ofe the dogs get bitten?
I yesterday saw a boerboel die on the vets counter after been bitten by a rinkhals, and that was after the dog got 3 vails of antivenom.

I have copied a few topics which might be useful for you to read. They may not be Rinkhals specific, but it gives you an idea of what to do in case of a bite r you dogs being spat in the eyes.

Thanks Wes, you are a great help. Sometimes people don't thank you for your efforts but if you look deep in their hearts they are eternally greatful.
