Very Sad Day Eastern Cape Herper Dies

Postby Sly » Sun Sep 18, 2011 10:50 pm

It's with great sadness and disbelief that i have to inform fellow herpers in South Africa that Shaun Molman aka "redrink" passed away this evening.

I'm not 100% sure of all the facts, but do know that Shaun had taken his Red Spitter out to take photo's of this snake. The snake spat him in his eye and mouth. He had a bad reaction to the venom and also suffered from chronic ashma. It's believed that the paramedics called out to his house had tried to save Shaun's life but to no avail, he died of Respiratory complications.

Shaun was pronouced dead earlier this evening.

Our sincere condolences goes out to his family and loved ones, i knew Shaun personally all he ever spoke about was reptiles, he was totally absorbed with keeping and working with reptiles, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him and dealt with him in the Eastern Cape.

Rest in peace Shaun.
