Fund Raiser Auction for Animaniacs / Kemp family

Postby Bushbaby » Wed Mar 27, 2013 12:06 pm

As many of you are aware, Animaniacs burnt down the night before last. Henry is expected to have a lengthy stay in ICU which means that they will not have an income for several months while he is recovering, as well as all additional medical bills, and re-building a shop.

I would like to suggest an auction to raise some funds for the Kemp family. This will only be possible with your help. Could I appeal to anyone who can assist to donate any reptiles, reptile related books, t-shirts, etc, which can be auctioned off. I would like to have the auction going in the next two weeks.

Please pm me or contact me at bookings@reptileexpo.co.za should you be willing to make available anything for the auction.

Thank you in advance.

Me and Tanya at LAMB Pythons would like to give a donation, since we`re in the UK we can`t offer something for auction. Is there an account where we can transfer the money to? Send me a pm and we can discuss the details.

Hi there, I am just curious about something (and not to be an #$%&## in any manner)
but I am sure that such a high end breeder would have had things like this insured and be prepared for any possible accident.
I do understand what has happened is a tragedy but if there is insurance involved then I don't understand why money is an issue.

Fair comment. Not sure if there would be any insurance on the live stock though,

sillybilly :

I think the point that BB is trying to make is that, even with insurance, it's going to take a considerable amount of time to rebuild the facility...

The funds from the auction will help a lot to hold them over financially for that time, untill they'll be able to start generating an income again...

Also considering the cost of ICU.... not gonna just walk out of there and continue as in the past.... Insurance never covers everything!!!

Nope because it was new facility he had not finalised the insurance. This is not a request from their side but a gesture from our side. We brought it up not them.

I will donate one of my CB013 Ridge tail monitors to get it started.

The route may be different, but the destination is the same:

I know from personal experience, even with medical aid, ICU and extensive medical care which something like this would require, is going to cost a small fortune. The fact that he was willing to endanger his own life to save his animals speaks volumes for his good character. I cannot donate any animals but I'll definitely make a financial contribution.
