Makes me sick to see Sungazers in collections overseas. When we all know they are not bred in numbers over there.

This specimen was 1800€ so I doubt there are a lot of imports ;)

No.
Normally this edition was supposed to be without any venomous species, but the staff changed their minds not long before the show. I have seen young Bitis arietans at one table and a WC Dispholidus typus, that s all i can think about.
Keep in mind that many European countries do not accept venomous species or restrict them a lot, in Germany you have to be 21 to own some and here in France you would have to pass a very demanding license.

Did the economy have an influence on prices or did the sales happen as easily as in other years and were the reptile prices what you expected?

I was in Hamm as usual and I did see lots of interesting venomous snakes. All the Taipans, D. polylepis CB, Hemachatus, O. hannah, Bungarus sp. and many many more. Not that much as in Houten last year (The Netherlands) but def. a lot of nice snakes.

Prices were pretty much the same as usual but lately people spend less money on new snakes. In Houten, most people comlained about the low sells. I don't know if this was also the case in Hamm though.

Cheers, Ro.
