Here are some pics that I took at the expo. I actually forgot my camera at the expo but thanks to Craig for keeping it safe for me and bringing it back to Durbs.

@cornsnake: sorry don't have any more pics of corns. The only one I managed to get I posted on page 6 of this thread. They look like albino corns to me but I'm no expert. Thanks Rishaad for the pics. You obviously got the "inside angle" before all the visitors arrived!

Why did I miss this???
I always keep a supply of stimulant handy in case I see a snake, which I also keep handy.

You can have a next one still this year within three month, if preparations start right now. Just decide on a venue. I'm pretty sure one of the shopping centers or universities will be willing to accommodate.

Uncut diamonds I would love to see someone try and hold an expo with three months planning. At a shopping center? What were you thinking? Have you been to a successful reptile expo?

In the beginning of the year there is one held in Randburg. After that there is one at Emperor's palace and then in spring there is one held at Kyalami. In between there might be one down in Durban.

Do not confuse these expos with the snake side shows that are held in shopping centers and school halls around Gauteng. That is basically just a glorified private collection.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Shopping center can be a problem, since management working there usually has got a problem getting their ass from the chair. I was for example thinking about the University of Pretoria and their biology department. They'd be able to provide the facilities their, some admin backup and it would be in their own interest to have an expo their. They may however have longer lead times to get something started there.

An event like a full blown expo can be quite some effort. You need facilities to host, support staff, marketing campaign both to visitors and to exhibitors. But with a proper budget and a dedicated team three month lead time is doable.
