Latest CITES Species Appendix

Postby Vrakkie » Thu Aug 11, 2011 4:55 pm

Hi All

I have been browsing the net to find the latest update on CITES Appendices of snakes worldwide.
The www.cites.org site does not give much in terms of the species I am interested in.
What I have noticed is that South African indigenous snakes are not mentioned in any appendice except for the Natal Rock Python.
What about Black and Green mambas, cobras etc.

Can anybody help please
Why are there snakes not listed on the CITES website, but if you do an individual search on the species, you find in which index they fall

Thanx
Carlo

Carlo you have to go look for each species or else you might get confused.

As far as snakes go, South Africa only has the one, the Natal Rock Python.

When it comes to tortoises, lizards and crocodiles then you have a whole lot more.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
