Now why did this have to get nasty before a reasonable solution was found? It would seem as if the people there are ready to hold negotiations and find solutions.

Well done to the Nature Conservation department and all members involved. I hope this gets reported to senior management as this is what it means to be a public servant.

I guess the Bearded dragon is the most impressed with this turn of events.

At least NC Natcon sees reason - unlike their Western Cape Counterparts
Snakes caring for me:

0.1 Boaedon capensis (Brown house snake)
1.0 Lycodonomorphus inornatus (Olive ground snake)
1.0 Pseudaspis cana (Mole snake)
1.1 Dispholidus typus (Boomslang)
0.1 Naja annulifera (Snouted cobra)

Ai, ai, ai... I feel your pain! Keep at it, until you get what was agreed to. And get all correspondence IN WRITING....

In the past, I have been given instructions telephonically, asked for it to be confirmed by e-mail and never received said e-mail. After I did what I was told to do and didn’t get a response, I phoned and was told that I didn’t supply this and that - by the same person! When I complained about this, I was flatly ignored and told what the new requirements were - in writing. Obviously, I had to comply, which was not the issue. Being steam-rolled by Natcon was the issue... and the fact that they did not blink when I questioned their conflicting instructions and lack of communication... Note that I am in the WC and this was some time ago, but it did leave me with a very bad impression, and it was not the only time something like this went down.

Byt vas!

Well just keep the animal and hang on to copies of all your applications. The beardie does not want a permit, the authorities want it to have a permit so now its their problem not yours.

What happened to the 21 days acceptable time period?
