Hey Guys,
So I have a bit a problem. Two days ago we stopped to buy fruit on the road from Sun City and we saw a "baby" chameleon that these guys had captured. the chameleon was extremely dehydrated and ridiculously thin. we all thought it was maybe dead. Regardless I decided to take it to see if I could help but when I got home and did some research I found out it is illegal to have them. I was shocked and sad but I know I need to do the right thing and apply for a permit or turn him over to perhaps the EWT so that he may be SAFELY release back into the wild. miraculously he is doing better... He has his colour back, is drinking and slowly beginning to be more active. I would love to keep him but I do not want to get into trouble legally.
ANY ADVICE PLEEEEEEASSSSEEEE

Just take him back to the area where he came from and put him inside a reserve of some sort. Post a picture so that we can just confirm he was not smuggled there from another locality. Rumour has it that they are now smuggling them in from KZN and these are dwarf chameleons.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Cornsnakes are listed as Category 3. That means they are legal to own if you have them, but you may not breed, trade nor transport them.
