I would just like to point out the importance of a thermostat. I did not have one and what did it cost me? The life of my albino bhs. My female. I loved her so much. And I feel like I killed her. The temps were too high and I did not even know. I should be shunned from this wonderful community. I will never forgive myself.

Sorry about the snake man. You know that albinos are not the toughest snakes and summer is pushing a lot of heat into your cages. I got a skrik when I realised that my cages are already at the right temperature this time of year. I had to quickly get rid of the lights for the cold times and replace them with fluorescent lights.
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

Thanks for your kind words. I will miss her. What do I do with her remains?

You have to bury her deep so the cats and dogs don't get in.

At one stage I kept sevral BHS's and never did I give them extra heat in the summer... some not even in winter times... You'lle seldomly if ever see a BHS basking on a tar road, for them ambiant temps are more impotant.

Sorry for your loss man. It's a shame we always have to learn the hard way.

A thermostat might seem very expensive, but if you have a few identical cages with the same heat sourcess, you can run a few cages off one thermostat.

Hard luck amd keep a stiff upper lip. Seriously, it has happened to everyone.

Thermostats also save you a lot of money on electricity bills.
