Last night when I got home I saw one of my adult male boas in a peculiar position, when I took him out I first thought he was dead but on close examination I found from right behind his neck till about halfway in his body he was paralized. In that part he was very floppy. Also when poking him with a hair pin in that area there was no reaction, but when poking him in last part of his body he would flinch. Further on I could see nothing wrong, he flicked his tongue as usual but just could'nt move with that part. So I placed him in another enclosure and kept him warm but this morning he was dead .
He was fine until yesterday when I found him like that, he ate an ekstra large rat on Tuesday. His enclousure is a "double-story" so it's quite high.
Could he have fallen inside his cage and damaged his spine?
At first I did'nt want to post because I know some people will find something to bash me about and I realy dont have the energy for that as I'm realy depressed about this but I want to know what went wrong
I placed his body in a bag in the freezer.
