Shaka

At one stage or the other, we all deal with a death. It is never nice losing a pet and thus, you can share your loss with the rest of us and share your memories so that they will be remembered.

What a start to the day!

Had to euthanase my much beloved "Shaka" this morning. He was a GSD cross with a Rottie (even though he appeared more of a GSD than the other).

He just all of a sudden became paralysed. I'm heartbroken

He was my puppy I got when I still lived in Oudtshoorn in 2003. Stood by him whilst the Dr put him to sleep

Dr said there was possibly a lesion on his brain, hence the sudden paralysis. He said that the way he had his neck was out of the ordinary. His eyes were also affected.

May you RIP my boytjie. Mommy misses you and will never forget you and our many special moments and memories. :smt022

Can this day please get over so that I can go home and sleep off my depression?

Awww, really sorry to hear your loss, :(
Respect for doing the right thing as tough as hit maybe.
Especially with dogs its so difficult to let go!

The bright side his, he's not in pain.
Take care and just put together the memories, it always helps.
All the Best!!

Ooh that is never nice. At least he knows you loved him right to the last.

Sorry for your loss. It is always a hard decision but the right one! Keeping the good times in memory will help ease the pain.

Sorry for your loss!
It is heartbreaking hearing animal friends have passed.
All the best and as BV said you being there made him known that you loved him till the end.

Agh, such a shame. My heart breaks just to think of having to do that with one of our babies. Had never had to "make the decision" til last year with one of our cats, and I just sobbed. So sorry for your loss.

I know the feeling of loss you are experiencing, and suffer with you.
A few years ago I also had to make the decision to have 2 beloved dogs put down, and will live with the experience for the rest of my life.
It was not an easy decision, but one that had to be made.
I still wake up with nightmares after having to make that decision.

I cry with you, knowing what you are going through, and wish it on no-one.
Take comfort in the good times you had with your beloved pet, and keep them always close to your heart.
