bite bad - not known to be fatal! but hospitalization will most likely be required!
Size - average less than 1 meter
Temps - as these animals are originally from very hot, not humid! areas, high temps!
Setup - Lots of hiding places and desert sand also supply a feeding dish.

These is what I know, this might not be completely accurate as I do not personally keep these, but there are a couple that do or did keep them as BushBaby as I recall. (might be mistaken)

And I'm up for correction.

Fatalities have been recorded from the bite of an aspidelaps, 2 children to be exact, so the bite is medically important,

I house mine on sterilised play pen sand, hide in the one corner, you can also keep them on paper, your choice, they dont get big, average around 60 to 70 cm.

temps 28 to 32 in that area, with a night time drop, mine are on no heating whatsoever.

Thanks Serpy for clearing that up, I was under the impression that they are not as venomous as you claim there, just goes to show how much misdirection there is!

Good thing you have extensive experience Serpy.

The fatal bites were from Infuscatus if i remember correctly, that race is now included into cowlesi now ( Angolan coral ) as far as I know infuscatus is no longer recognised

What I can add is that they are experts on hiding, it's better to feed them pre killed food and that they are usually calm when you handle them with a hook stick.
as long as you keep quiet, no one will notice that your dumb

The bite is medically important and going to hospital will probably not help as the polyvalent antivenom does not work for this species. Just avoid getting bitten. They do not sit on a hook that easily so be careful when transferring them from one container or cage to another. Try using large tweezers if you really have to. Try using a shift box if you have to move them.

They do not like it TOO HOT! This will cause them to regurgitate! They like being at about 24 to 25 degrees and want a basking spot of 28 degrees when digesting food.

You can keep them on newspaper or in soil as long as they have enough hiding places they can burrow under. The areas where they occur does have sandy soil but they are not found in just sand.

They will take live nestling rodents but take freshly killed ones just as easily. Feed in the late evenings as that is the time they move around.

These are little reincarnations of Harry Houdini in my opinion. Make sure you have a completely escape proof cage!

Seconded. They seem to be better as escaping than other species.
