Hi everyone. Does anyone have any info or websites on keeping and breeding Flame Bellied lizards Thanx :?

Eddy, do a search under cordylus mozambicus. there are a few sites with info on the gorongoza lizards. The basics are keeping them rather hot (28 -30) degrees and humidity should be fairly high. Direct sun or uv bulbs is a must.

They are actually quite easy to keep and breed.

You need to provide them with a sandy substrate, hiding spots and a hot spot. Do not put heating pads in, put a nice big spot light in the cage where he can bask, and when he gets warm enough, he can go hide. 28 - 30 degrees is about the right temp for them, as Dentech said.

They give live birth, so you do not have to worry about incubation. They love meal worms, and will also take crickets, in moderation. Oh, and remember, if you want to breed them, you need a pair!! lol

They're quite cute.

These are open grassland species that actually live in burrows, not rocky outcrops like the other Cordylus species. They are known to live in family groups and the parents can easily be kept together with the babies.

They will also take small beatles and termites, as well as occasional vegetable matter.

Remember to supplement the food with calcium.

They need lots of hiding places to calm down, and they tame down quite easily.

Thanks guys and girl I am Eddy's Dad I will convey the info to him. Just a question I know with Beardies you should not feed them on the sand, is it the same case with these lizards too? I also think he has a heat pad in the cage but wil tell him to switch it off. Has a infra red lamp and UV light in that should suffice. BV glad to hear you are up and about. Look after yourself.

Yes, you can. They can live in family groups, so it wont be a problem.
