Crested or Gargoyle

Hi

I am looking to get myself either a Crested gecko (Rhacodactylus ciliatus) or Gargoyle gecko (Rhacodactylus auriculatus)

I was wondering which would be a better beginner's arboreal?

Seeing that their care is roughly the same, and they originally come from the same island, I would like to know which you guys prefer or recommend?

I personally like my Gargoyles more but their care is identical. Crested geckos are more affordable and come in more colours but the Gargoyles just have is look which i like and they are more robust. Also if they loose a tail it grows back unlike the Crested geckos. One problem I have found is that they gargoyles are aggressive breeders. I have a horribly scared female from this. I can't say they all as bad but my boys are rapists!

how many different Gargoyle Gecko's do you get, And are there plenty of the going around for sale?? i know Leopard Geckos you can find almost in any pet shop

There are not many going around and you don't get any real morphs. They come with reticulated and lined pattern but sometimes a bit of both which is nice. They mostly earthy colours but you do get some reddish ones. I still think crested and especially gargoyle geckos are under rated in SA but it's slowly growing.

what do you mean by under rated... its not a popular Gecko??? because i see allot of Leopard geckos around
