Was this not called Riopa before?

I think they are stunning! Proper Fire skinks!

I saw a whole batch which were exported from Ghana and all arrived dead. This gave me the opportunity to try and see which sexes they were. Out of the 4 adults and 3 babies I could not see a single difference between them.

I would get some more and put them together and see which ones like each other and which dont. Then you get rid of the ones that dont like your others.

Are they expensive in Germany? I have seen them for sale for about 12 dollars each out of Ghana.

Hello Bushviper,

these are the terrible sites of animal trading! My girlfriend worked in Reptile Shop, and i saw,how the animals sometimes are shipped. The worst i saw was about 50 Varanus albigularis, all dehydrated and not feeded, never saw such thin monitors. The half died within 1 week.

My skink is a german CB,i paid 20€.Its extremely difficult to sex this skink.Males should have a bigger head, but what is bigger, when you have nothing to compare to.But i dont want to breed this animal,so i dont tried to find out the gender.I thought about it,to buy a some more and breed, but the direction went to the geckoes.

regards

Matthias

mentioned the wrong monitor species, it is V. exanthematicus
