I have never run a poll before so I thought I would run one now, the question is-Which lizard makes the best pet?

Can you be a bit more specific, indigenous? The leopard gecko definetly gets my vote!

Leos r gr8, can you be a bit more specific. By best pet, I assume you mean the calmest, easiest to tame, lizard.

I dont keep 'pet shop' lizards but I have seen bearded dragons come running when their owner calls them and they seem to love being handled.

Unless you mean best pet as in: 'Nicest looking' then I would probably go with Crested gecko. If you mean this, it is like asking: 'what is your favorite movie'. It really boils down to personal choice.

I would love a cb komodo, nice and tame and none of that bacterial mouth saliva they have (a good ad here for dentine mouthwash) but mv vote from the list = bearded dragon, the little komodo.

Snake-5 you would be amazed at what a nice pet a komodo makes. When they are tame they are awesome animals to work with. I have been lucky enough to have that priviledge and it is something I will never forget.

I have had a good few lizards as pets in my life and the one that was the best pet and the one I miss the most is a Sand monitor Varanus gouldi flavirufus. This was one of the few lizards I have had that would come over when you called him and never once tried to bite. I would pay serious money to get one or two of these guys again.
