Gator 50 miles N. of Houston, TX]
This picture was taken by a KTBS helicopter flying over Lake Conroe!
(For those of you who are not local, Lake Conroe is about 50 miles north of Houston.)

That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!
Are you ready to go skiing on Lake Conroe ?!
If you ski at the west end of the lake -- try not to fall.

This alligator was found between Athens and Palestine, Texas near a house.
Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator - guess he wouldn't cooperate...
Anita and Charlie Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night.
Their neighbours had been telling them that they had seen a mammoth alligator
in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as
exaggerations. "I didn't believe it," Charles Rogers said. Friday they realized
the stories were, if anything, understated.
Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens had to shoot the beast Joe Goff, 6'5" tall,
a game warden with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, walks past a 23-foot,
1-inch alligator that he shot and killed in their back yard.

I think that the Texas Game and Wildlife wardens made a huge mistake when they shot this beast. With a little planning they easily could have transplanted it to the Rio Grande River. Now that should have cut down on the illegal migration just a tad.

I agree, and soon all genetics promoting larger specimens will be lost. Such a shame.

Would have saved George Bush building that fence if he had more of these lurking in the Rio Grande

Alligators do not grow to that size. The person is just far in the background and thus the illusion is created that the alligator is much larger. I would not put that animal at much past 12 feet long.

It is BV, thaty is an adult whitetaill deer, its in that gators jaws, I agree that the man in the pic is not in the correct proportion but the gator is no less than 6 meters (18 feet)

Ive seen way too many of these emails. Theyre digitally altered in my opinion.
Just look at that last pic, it doesnt sit right with me. Plays on the eyes a little too much.

if you look closly at the las pic if the guy was close to the gator then surly his shadow would overlap the gators tail? also if you look at the crain it is far to pixulated for the pic and is also not the right colour for its body?

so i deff think its not the whole truth...

Yeah the shadows are all wrong. The Gator doesn't even cast a shadow where it should!

The real deal on both pics (both legitimate by the way):

First pic is of a 13 foot gator, not 23 foot...

Second pic was taken over South Georgia and is estimated to be about 12-13 feet...
