Venomous Lizard

Yup, we can add one more lizard to the list of venomous. Although it is one that we already know a great deal about. I got an email from Bryan Grieg Fry today and he has proven that the Komodo Dragon is actually VENOMOUS. It has been long held the devastating effects of bites were the result of toxic bacteria. This is no longer the case.

On a side note, a big congrats to Bryan for being awarded The Zuckerkandl Prize for his recent work on Colubrid venom.

nope, basically all monitors and a few other lizards were tested.

Seems like all monitors are involved.

Interesting- can't believe it took this long for someone to actually look at their anatomy properly!
