My new lizards

Postby Boadicea » Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:59 am

I acquired a pair of eyed lizards just recently and thought I would share some pics. They have lovely personalities and eat crickets, mealworms, the odd pinkie and fruit. They are quite curious and sometimes come up to the cage door when I open it. Lovely little guys. The female is duller than the male. She did not really want to pose for pics. She is in the last pic. They gave me a fright the other day because when I looked in the cage I saw no-one home. A frantic search revealed that they had dug themselves in under their water bowl and food bowl.

Wow, those are really nice Boadicea.
You must have such a nice collection of animals because almost every week you post of new pets you got.

Thanks mittone_79. I do have a nice collection of animals largely because I am a hopeless addict. However I am unfortunately not rich enough to acquire news ones every week :( - though if I was I would ;)

These lizards remind me to much of leguaans, just prettier. They are known to breed well in captivity so lets hope you can post pics about that quite soon.

I saw a specimen in a museum once that was huge, probably almost a metre in length. Apparently it depends on the localities how big they get.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

The adults of these guys look a lot like your lizards. I don't have an adult pic handy, and this is a yearling.
