Hello
Could someone please help me ID the snake in the attached picture? It has moved into my gate motor where we need to work so I need to figure out what to do with it. When I open the motor cover it ducks below the base plate so catching it is not easy. I estimate it about 25cm long, evenly coloured except the head which has the light-brown streak across the eye and some lighter markings behind the head which eventually fade away. Moves quite slow.
If necessary I'll try getting a better picture later when it surfaces again ...
This is near Roodeplaat dam, Pta.

coolest snakes to catch when they in the house! *play with it for 10 minutes* then let it go , lol
If you can't easily explain it to a 5 year old, you don't know enough about the topic.
