What freaks you out ?

Here is the place to discuss anything not related to reptiles and does not fall into any other catagories.

Wasps are scary. I never try to kill them for fear of retribution.
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

I have wasp nest outside my window, they also scare me. When I was young I got stung 4 times on my neck by those african wasps.
Was wondering would a person who is allergic to bee stings also be allergic to wasp stings?

Well I am allergic to bee stings, not badly I just swell up a lot.
A sting on the finger would result in the arm swelling up to about the elbow.
I’ve been stung by a few wasps in my time.
Those little red ones we get in JHB and even those nice big ones with the long tail that one sees out side of the more built up areas.
I had no reaction to those except for a sudden bout of Tourette's involving a lot a swear words.
My father in-law on the other hand is highly allergic to bees and went into anaphylactic shock after a sting from a wasp.

Mitton, did you take that photo? That is truly scary.
The one outside my window is about a fifth of that size.

Just parasites in general...Whether internal or external..

Is that a picture of Wasps?? I know wasps are cruel bastards (I've read about some of the craziest stuff that they do) but they don't bother me much at all and I live near a good amount of wasps. Atleast for the wasps that are by me...if you leave them alone they won't bother you.

Ticks on the other hand   :o :o :(

I'm an atheist but, even I think they must have came from the bowels of hell or something...Their is no other explanation for why those satan spawns exist. Me and my dog get raped on a daily basis by them when we go hiking. My record for 1 hike is 37! The Black Legged tick is especially satanic(compared to other American ticks)

@Yoson, I can beat you with the tick count. I went hiking last year in summer time and picked up 54! And not big ones, those little buggers that are difficult to see. Had to throw all my clothes in boiling water to make sure I got all of them.

It wasn't me who found it ( the snake was in Australia and I live in America) but according to the guy who posted it the snake was extremely ill for awhile but eventually recovered.....The Moose on the other hand wasn't so lucky :( :(

My main problem with them is that.....they contribute almost nothing to the ecosystem ( barely anything atleast in America) eats them yet they take a lot from the ecosystem....I feel like Mosquitoes( which are also despicable creatures) despite being much more efficient and successful human disease vectors than ticks atleast are consumed by other animals and play a small role in the food chain (even if it is a very negative role to humans) Ticks on the other hand are just worthless parasites which are barely consumed by anything.
