TV Cabinet to Reptile enclosure conversion

Hi Guys. Though I would just share some pics of my TV cabinet conversion.

1)TV cabinet before any modifications

2)Removed the original VCR shelf

3)Replaced the VCR shelf with a piece of chipboard as the VCR shelf did not reach right to the back of the cabinet.

4)Put the glass tracks in place.

5)Put the glass in to ensure that my measurements and guesstimates were correct.

6)Closed up hole in the back of the unit with a piece of Masonite and placed tiles into enclosure to ensure that those guesstimates were correct

7)Some tiny tiles to fill the gaps

8)Cut some air vents into the enclosure using an circular saw drill bit, covered the holes with standard cupboard air vent covers

9)The final product

The plan now is to convert the cupboard on the right side of the enclosure into a rack system. The cupboards space at the bottom is perfect for storing crickets, paper towels, spray bottles etc.

All in all this was quite a fun and rewarding projected. My Geckos now have nicely sized enclosure and the enclosure as a whole blends in well in my living room :-D

Excellent work Mental-tree. I was thinking of doing the same to our wardrobe when my wife and I move to a bigger apartment. Great stuff....................
