Reptile Trade in South Africa

Postby BrianChamier » Mon Feb 03, 2014 11:35 am

Hi All.

I am busy with a business plane for my company I wish to start.
I am trying to find something on the net regarding market analysis of the reptile trade in South Africa.
All I can find is bad news on smuggling of exotic reptiles and the effects it is having on the environment.
I do think this is all important info and I do take this to heart and have used some of this info, as it is alarming.
I am just struggling to find facts and numbers on the legal side of the reptile trade?

Please if anyone can help me with a suggestion please I will appreciate your help.

Kind regards

Brian.

The Department of agriculture (veterinary department) should have a list of all the permits issued during any given year. This is easier than trying to find out from each provincial department. That should give you a rough idea.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
