I volunteer at Beachwood Mangrove Swamps and it is a constant uphill battle to keep it clean , when flooding occurs toilets and basins have even washed up. 100% of all the work and passion keeping that place alive is from unpaid Volunteers about 50 of them. If KZN wildlife had no volunteers that place would be a dump. The permanent staff that actually get paid , do not have the intuition or enthusiasm to do anything of any value , they just drive a bakkie and wear a uniform. They do absolutely nothing basically. From my experience recently with working around Nature Conservation is that this country is in very bad hands.

In addition I also find that all the Money and Effort put into regulating the pet industry and wildlife trade has been misdirected and far too heavily influence by academia. There are much more important direct issues at hand.

The single most important ingredient in Nature Conservation is people. People who love Nature & animals , we are those people.
