Juvenile Mole Snake

Caught this fiesty bugger near Cape Town whilst training yesterday afternoon - around a meter long but still carrying his juvenile markings, very pretty! Did not attempt to bite but really did try to escape, was pretty hard trying to take a pic with a cellphone camera and keep him under control!

Still has lots of markings. That one will probably turn olive green when it gets older.

as far as markings go how often do they retain some as adults, I have a 3 year old female that is over a meter long and she still has some left.

Martin this does not happen that often. I have only seen two or three which are near adults with markings left on them.

will attempt to post some pics, will need some help with this one, she is one crazy snake ! inside or outside the cage she will bite repeatedly.
I may wait for warmer weather and just take her outside, that would be a while though.
