First eggs......ever!!!

First eggs......ever!!!

Postby reptile » Mon Feb 09, 2015 9:37 pm

Hey!
So excited... I got my first eggs ever! Pairing was a Super Hypo Male x Normal Female... can't wait to see if there are any hidden genes! The one egg looks very healthy... strong and firm, the other is very slouchy and soft...but still looks good. Hoping for the best. Also I don't have an incubator... but found a spot in the cage thats perfectly suited, both day and night. The only problem the container is see-through so I wanted to know if this will affect the eggs? The heat emitting light is off.. and the only light source would be a flourecent tube.

Congratulations on the egg/s.
Great feeling.
I would recommend investing in an incubator if breeding is something you want to be doing in the future.

Congratulations, hope you get healthy little ones.
Regarding the light, I would be inclined to say it would be better for them to develop in a dark environment, simply because that is how it is out in the wild. I doubt exposure to light on such a scale could do any harm though.

Depends on the temps you are incubating at... 30c as short as 30days, 27-28 around 40-50 days, and lower up to 80 I think...
