Heat Pad Placement

Heat Pad Placement

Postby F1refly » Sat Aug 13, 2016 10:44 am

Hi guys

I haven't been on here for a long time. Anyway, I recently got back into keeping geckos and I found a nice normal female with random hets and a White and yellow Super Hypo Carrot Tail with a het or two as well. Now, the point of the thread. I bought a big heatpad and put it on the side of tank, but after doing research I see most people recommend to put the pad underneath. Is this going to a big problem or not really?

And what's the best way to prove the hets?

The sides will be fine, it's safer too.

To prove a heterozygous gene you need to breed it to a an animal that is known to be heterozygous for the same gene.
The way to success has no shortcuts.
