Leopard geckos due soon

Leopard geckos due soon

Postby Bushbaby » Tue Dec 26, 2006 8:57 am

One of my Leopard gecko's laid eggs on the 31st October this year and these guys are due to hatch any day now. 2 days ago the one egg started denting. This is what it looks like now, you can even see the baby inside and I can tell it's gonna be very pretty.

Bushbaby if the egg started denting 2 days ago allready the baby should have been out by now. I think he might be stuck. Maybe carefully slit the rest of the shell open to see if he is still ok. Normally when a Leopard Gecko egg starts sweating the baby hatches not too long after that. I've had an egg before that started sweating when I checked in the morning and when I checked again later on that day the the baby had drowned in the egg fluid from not being able to get out. Good luck and let us know what the outcome is.

I cut open the egg yesterday, and the baby had died :( I reckon that there was some hiccup cause it was not properly formed and had a bump on the head.

Here's some pics.

No, I think it was pretty normal, but that's how it came out of the egg. Didn't fiddle too much with it.

Never nice.

I just checked my leo's and my Hypo is gravid again and should be dropping any day now. My normal is also gravid but I don't think as far. Checked the other eggs, and I don't think that the 1st clutches of either of them were any success.

Kynan, you must remember to keep me some of those babies we spoke about earlier the year!! ;)

Re: Leopard geckos due soon

Hey, my son just bought his second leopard gecko, they are both female, but the second one must have been pregnant when he bought her, as we've only had her a week, and she's laid an egg. My question is, the egg she laid two days ago looks like the pic of the one you said was due to hatch. Does this mean the baby is dead, or that there is something wrong with it?

Thanks!

That would mean your humidity is to low, you need a high humidity so the egg stay's plump. How are you incubating it?
