As far as I know you can keep most indigenous as long as it's all permitted.
There is absolutely nothing we can do because the iggies and beardies that are here are not on permit so we cant even buy it here and keep it they all have to be sold outside of the Eastern Cape. Which also explains why people keep these things illegally, because the system is so messed up!!!! And of course the guys that issue permits cant give a valid reason as to why not to permit them.
Within our EC offices there is a serious lack of communication! East London and PE are like 3 hours apart and EL falls under PE's juristiction but when i wanted to send a pair of Dumerils up there the permit guy at the permit office in EL FREAKED OUT!!!! Called me to tell me there was no way in hell he was going to allow THAT SPECIES into EL??? WTF?? Any way long story short he had to issue the permits as this lot were born and bred in EC and now EL communicates better with PE YAY!!! LOL!!
