It might also be due to the fact that it is a photo scanned or was taken from a book. Looks more like it's photographed than scannned.

Seeing how hard it is to believe these pics, we all ready have a big problem on our hands... My Grandparents had a farm in what was called Rhodesia, and i have heard many stories of these giants from many members of the family, and it seems crocs of this size was a normal occurrence back in the day. But these days unfortunately one mostly
hears stories, and this would be a lovely find if the pics turn out to be true.
Farming (fertilizers and pesticides ending up in rivers) and water pollution also has a very negative impact on them. Also the crisis in Kruger with their crocs, doesn't paint a very bright future picture for these magnificent beasts in the wild
Kruger Park faces a major problem as most of their major waterways originate from outside the park, where it is polluted with toxins, chemichals, exotic plant species, and who knows what else! This would not only be detrimental to crocs and fish, but to most animals who call Kruger home. This is something government should act on fast!
