Gino the reason is that nobody really cares. They want to bother people who are trying to make a difference. Same with the tortoises next to the road. That could have been closed down long ago. Early in the new year there will be an effort made to slow this all down (it will never stop) but manpower and political will is missing.

Well lets hope they get a couple more in before they stop the whole thing. Those are awesome little crocs and so hard to get hold of!

Contacts in this industry/trade/hobby is the thing. Anyone can get anything at a great price if you know people. And thats fact. If it is legal is another story.

A 5m caiman would be extraordinarily large for ANY type of caiman (even in captivity).

5 m is pretty large for a Nile/Salty let alone a much smaller Caiman. Even the large Black Caiman rarely gets to such a huge size...and in the wild it would be extremely rare.

A Spectacled Caiman won't be to big..Average around 2.5-3m or so..You could always get a female to
