Where to buy and permits

Postby Dispholidus » Tue Apr 26, 2016 11:56 am

Hi guys

I am in the Western Cape and on the "hunt" for a American Aligator baby (preferably female). What are the permit requirements/regulations in teh Western Cape regarding acquiring and keeping these and also WHERE CAN I GET ONE LEGALLY?

Thanx!

I saw two for sale recently. They are on the market from time to time. I have a suspicion that they are not allowed in Western Cape. Contact Capenature before you go to the trouble of trying to track one down.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

As far as I know private keepers can't keep Crocodilians in the Western Cape

Why is this CapeNature so verkramp? And to think I worked for them many moons ago :smt021

I really would like an Alli or alternatively a Dwarf Croc or Caiman to use in reptile education shows. Want to also train the little bugger ;-)

Ah well :(
