Help indentify and predict

Postby Primogen » Wed Oct 10, 2012 3:12 pm

Hi im new to morphs and and the like and was wondering what my two corns were.
I have a Male which im really sure is very normal and a Female(currenly gravid with said male) which im not sure what she is.
As i said I expect my Female to lay her clutch in the next two weeks and would please like to know what i should expect in variety if any from the clutch when they hatch.
I apologize for the pics not really good at taking them.

Female:6-7 years

Male:7-8 years

If you look at the checkered belly and eye color, and of course the color and pattern of the sanke's body you can safely say that they are normals.

Both are Normal Corns.
You will get all Normal babies.
Of course, both may be het for Albino which means you will get Normals and Albinos among the babies.

The male won't be Het Albino because in the pic you can see that his eye is not red ,but I'm not sure about the female.

Lampie I dont know where you get your information from but having, or not having, a red eye has nothing to do with a snake being heterozygous for albino. There is no visual indicator.

I don't mean to Hijack the thread but i just want to confirm if I am correct, I have a normal corn but the belly has only trace amounts of black does this make it a motley?

I would say they are both normals and I agree with the others that you will get normal hatchlings, but could also be het for albino like stated before. If you don't know what morph their parents where then you could get some other babies, but I will say your best bet is that most babies will be normals.

I'd love to know if you baught it at a local pet shop. Witch will be my guess. This reminds me off all the bad advice I got from petshops.

Oh yes, I know this is going off topic but I too have seen that some petshops are useless when it comes to giving advise especially about reptiles and don't even try to correct them cause they always think they know better. It is sad that this happens and I am not saying all petshops are the same, I have found some great ones who have the experience and the knowledge.
It is like the petshop I worked at a few years ago, the owner started selling reptiles because of the demand for them, but she herself was terrified of them, some people are just in it for the money and don't care what happens to the animals after they are sold as long as they have their money in their pocket.
