Hi all

I would like to find out if there are any reasons besides IBD that a burmese python would be lying on its back ??

Any advice would be appreciated thanks

If it's a female she might be gravid. Right time of year.

It is a female, but she has not been anywhere near a male...

Post a pic of her.
Was she ever with a male before?

Is she eating? Are her eyes still looking normal ? If she can't get back up straight by herself I am sorry to I think its IBD..... :(

Nope, to my knowledge she has never been with a male before.. I've only had her for 3 months thought.

She is eating well still and by looking normal what do you mean ??

Pythons with IBD do not feed properly and if you watch them move the almost do back somersaults. I dont think your girl is sick. Some snakes will rest on their backs from time to time especially when burrowing under newspaper or other substrate. Take a picture next time she does it and post that.
