Postby gartersnake » Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:19 am

Hi Guys I found this little guy in Limpopo some time ago, according to my books they do not normally occur in that region.
Does anyone have any more info on these stunning lizards.

That is Wahlbergs Snake-eyed skink (Panaspis wahlbergii). The are found in Limpopo.

In the extreme Northern province, look out for the Spotted-neck Snake-eyed Skink (Panaspis maculicollis) - a related, but less common species with white spots on the side of the neck.

If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes, you'll just have to claw your way through this disguise.
