Water Monitor

Hey there.

Please would somebody be so kind as to assist with the correct ID of this? Believe it or not, this was captured within the motor compartment of a fridge in Roodepoort area. As I am not that familiar with Monitors, I was hoping that one of you guys or gals would be able to help. It appears to be a Varanus niloticus, but I am not certain...

That is a Nile Monitor (Varanus niloticus)

Thank you for the feedback from everyone.
Much appreciated. My idea is to release this in a Nature Reserve on the weekend, close to a dam with rocky outcrops surrounding the area.
Or should I first fatten him/her up beforehand? Looks a bit on the thin side...

It isnt thin at all really, looks quite healthy to me.
