My first ball on the way need some help though

Hi guys I found a ball python from a guy he wants R700 for it and he has 5 for sale.
I wanna know cause this price sound very cheap so what should i look at when buying the snake it is a yearling and should I get a male or female. Any other tips as this will be my first ball

Look for the following...
All over the body for ticks and parasites.
Decent body mass.
Stuck shedding and eyecaps.
Wheezing in the breath.
Tongue flicking.
Inside the mouth for nice moist pink colour.
Make sure it feeds properly.
The conditions it was kept in.
Discharge from the vent.
Strength.

Also see what their body composure is like. Make sure they're not lethargic.

Have you setup a cage for it yet?? Make sure your temps are at around 28 - 30 degrees C and that the humidity is high enough. I usually do this by placing a waterbowl on the heating pad.
